- In recent years Fujifilm has brought more of its mirrorless cameras to South Africa, and now it is aiming to do the same with its accessories.
- This includes the new Fujifilm TG-BT1 tripod grip, which is expected to be available early next year.
- The tripod grip is also expected to retail for a recommended R3 200.
This week Fujifilm announced that a new accessory is set to land on our shores early next year, which should be of interest to local content creators.
This will be the Fujifilm TG-BT1 tripod grip, which will be made available from January 2023, the company confirmed in a press release sent to Hypertext.
Fujifilm SA has also advised on the recommended pricing for this high-end tripod grip, noting that it should retail for around R3 200.
As such, it does not come cheap. So what are you getting here?
While it can be used on most cameras, it is the Japanese company’s X-Series in particular that the Fujifilm TG-BT1 accessory is designed for. With its ability to not only function as a tripod, but as a grip too, it provides a number of shooting options for users both for video recording and for stills.
Added to this the TG-BT1 allows the camera angle to be adjusted 180 degrees vertically and 360 degrees horizontally.
“By rotating the TG-BT1 horizontally, it can be used as a selfie grip beneficial to those requiring footage of themselves. And by circling the unit vertically, it can be employed as a shooting grip for low-angle shots or videos,” adds Fujifilm SA.
Other key features include the ability to connect to compatible Fujifilm cameras via Bluetooth and provide access to remote shooting directly from the grip. This includes the shutter release button, video recording, as well as a control lock switch. Also, Fujifilm points out, when a lens equipped with power zoom is attached, a T/W button can be used for zoom operation.
Fujifilm notes that the tripod grip is weather resistant, with it capable of carrying a maximum combined weight of 1.5kg (the tripod grip weighs 205.5g excluding battery).
