Online harassment, specifically towards women, has been a plague on the internet for almost as long as the internet has allowed people to comment on it.

John Oliver, host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight, recently took a hard look at the problem, detailing what some people have endured. He also looked at the legalities (or the lack thereof) of revenge porn.

“Online harassment is a major problem, but it’s rarely prosecuted. If only we’d been warned about this in the early days of the internet,” reads the description on the YouTube page.

At the time of writing, the video has been viewed almost 85 000 times, generating 9 600 thumbs-up.

As usual, Oliver makes some really good points, and highlights what needs to be done in order to fight it.
