Folding Motorola RAZR V4 renders have supposedly been leaked online

While we were excited to see folding smartphones from Huawei and Samsung earlier this year, we’re still waiting for one more folding smartphone.

That is of course the Motorola RAZR V4 which is said to boast a folding display in the same clamshell form factor as the original Motorola RAZR V3 which launched in 2004.

Now it appears as if rendered images of the handset have appeared online.

Heading over to /Leaks will present you with a gallery of rendered images supposedly showcasing the new folding Motorola.

The images showcase what appears to be a wireless charger, cover and earphones. Those taking that to mean the RAZR V4 will house a 3.5mm jack should temper expectations because the render also features a USB Type-C to 3.5mm converter.

Another curiousity is that Motorola appears to be using the fold to make the handset more compact rather opening it up into a tablet-esque form factor.

While Samsung and Huawei opt for morphing their handsets into larger devices, the Motorola approach makes a bit more sense to us.

As much as we love the Samsung Galaxy S10+, the handset sticks out of our pockets and it’s rather awkward to carry around. Being able to fold it up is something we’d love.

As these images were leaked on Weibo, there is no official word on when folks can expect a trip in the nostalgia machine with the RAZR V4.
