Fujifilm adds to its mirrorless lineup with new digital X-A7

Fujifilm has been cranking our a number of mirrorless cameras of late, all of which are aimed at persuading consumers to drop their DSLR cameras in favour of these lighter and more compact offerings. Now there is a new device from the Japanese camera maker – the Fujifilm X-A7 – which is aimed at those consumers looking for a convenient digital mirrorless camera.

For this latest addition to the Fujifilm X range, which sits on the entry-level side of the spectrum, the X-A7 sports a newly developed 24.2MP lens. It also features rapid autofocus and face detection, according to the firm, with the added ability to create still images at 6fps.

The Fujifilm X-A7 is also designed for all skill levels, and beginners in particular, with the Japanese company has introduced a 3.5″ flip-out screen on the rear which has Smart Menu functionality to make navigation, settings and capturing far easier, Fujifilm adds. There’s 4K video recording at up to 30fps thrown in for good measure too.

Along with the lightweight 320g (body) design of the X-A7, Fujifilm will be pairing it with a XC15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens kit locally. Speaking of which Fujifilm South Africa confirms that the X-A7 will land in South Africa on 24th October, with the body and lens kit set to retail for a recommended R12 000.

The X-A7 comes in four different colour options (featured above): camel, dark silver, mint green and silver, all of which will be available in SA.

If you’re wanting to upgrade from your old point and shoot, the Fujifilm X-A7 may be a good place to start looking.
