Among Us & Fall Guys tweet about South African game Terra Nil

South African developer Free Lives and its publisher Devolver Digital have re-revealed Terra Nil, a ” reverse city builder” where the aim is to clean up the environment. This has drawn the attention of two of the most popular casual games right now – Among Us and Fall Guys.

The official accounts for the two games replied to the Devolver Digital tweet about the game expressing admiration for what was shown.

It’s worth pointing out that Fall Guys is also published by Devolver Digital but we doubt the company sent a missive to developer Mediatonic asking them to reply to the announcement.

We’ve been following the accounts of Fall Guys and Among Us for a while and this in line with what they’ve tweeted about in the past, and it’s just nice to see a South African import catch some attention overseas.

But back to Terra Nil and what we mean by “re-reveal”. The game was shown off in an alpha stage back in October 2020 where it was said to have been a passion project by a few Free Lives employees.

The company, famous for games like Broforce and Gorn, then adopted Terra Nil as a commercial title and work has been done on it ever since.

Devolver Digital called this announcement a “semi-new game reveal” complete with a new trailer (see below) and a Steam page.

The Steam page promises “phases of wasteland reclamation, unique, procedurally generated maps [and] picturesque landscapes” as some of its selling points.

Unfortunately there’s no release date listed just yet but Devolver Digital promises that a demo is going to be released soon, so add the game to your wishlist so you can get an update when that goes live.
