Pair of Lara Croft games come to Nintendo Switch in 2022

Lara Croft, AKA the Tomb Raider, continues the series 25th anniversary with an announcement of two new ports for the Nintendo Switch.

In 2022 Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light as well as Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will both be brought over to the Nintendo console by Feral Interactive.

Feral Interactive is known for its port work and we last covered the company when it brought Xcom 2 to Android earlier this year.

“With their arcade-inspired gameplay, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris combine the Tomb Raider hallmarks of exploration, platforming and puzzle-solving with co-operative multiplayer and fun, fast-paced combat,” Feral Interactive writes in an announcement.

Unfortunately no exact date for launch has been released and we’re generally low on details here with more information promised to be released on social media.

What we do have, however, is a screenshot of each game apparently on the Switch released by the official Lara Croft Twitter account.

We’re sure this is simply some Photoshop work and not the games actually running on the system.

Guardian of Light came out in 2010 and, on Metacritic, its various ports average around 80 percent. Temple of Osiris from 2014 was reviewed less positively but still has reviews in the 70 percent range.

Both games can be played on PC and older consoles for those who don’t want to wait for the Switch port or pay the Nintendo tax once it’s released. In the Steam Halloween Sale that just went live Guardian of Light is 85 percent off and Temple of Osiris is also 85 percent off.

You can buy both for less than the cost of a large fancy coffee from Starbucks but we can almost guarantee that this won’t be the case for the Switch ports.
