Back 4 Blood players can look forward to a lot thanks to a roadmap

Zombie shooter and Left 4 Dead impersonator Back 4 Blood now has a roadmap that details additions coming through the end of 2021 and into 2022.

This has been revealed on the official Xbox news site Xbox Wire by its editor Mike Nelson.

Before we look at the roadmap the free updates planned for the game are worth talking about:

  • Solo Offline Mode with Campaign Progression
  • New Supply Lines
  • Ridden Practice Area
  • Holiday Seasonal Event
  • New Difficulty
  • New Co-op Mode
  • New Card Type
  • New Player & Corruption Cards
  • Melee Updates

After playing the game – you can read our review here – we’re happy to see better support for offline play and some update to the melee system which could feel a bit limp at times.

As for the roadmap, viewable below, a lot has been promised for next year. Three expansions are planned for release through the paid Annual Pass with the first called “Tunnels of Terror”.

You can see a piece of art released for Tunnels of Terror in the header image above, and the roadmap in the embedded image below. Click on the roadmap to zoom in and read the details.

For those who don’t want to buy the Annual Pass each expansion will be sold individually too. We like this approach as it means customers can only buy what they want when they want it without paying in advance for content that isn’t out.

Back 4 Blood is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

It was a day one released on Xbox Game Pass so subscribers can play it right now without making any additional purchases. Only the base version of the game is available through Xbox Game Pass so any paid content released in the future will need to be purchased which makes the aforementioned individual expansion options more appealing.
