As we continue to monitor the figures regarding COVID-19 in South Africa while we inch closer to the predicted fourth wave of infections at the end of November, the people of this country are getting it from all sides as stage 3 loadshedding continues.
While the outlook on the nation’s power utility is bleak, the numbers for the spread of the virus at the moment are a bit more positive.
This as 305 new cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours, according to the latest report from the National Department of Health (NDoH). As a result, the total number of infections for SA to dat is now sitting at 2 992 644.
The department also notes that 48 fatalities have been reported too, as the death toll related to COVID-19 in South Africa increases to 89 435.
Looking at the other key figures in the report, the recovery rate remains unmoved at 96.4 percent, as it has done for most of the week. The NDoH also notes that over 18.80 million tests have been conducted so far.
As for the vaccine rollout, turnout at sites across the country over the past 24 hours is better, with 130 514 jabs administered. As of 17:00 on 10th November, a total of 23 540 547 vaccines have been administered, with an estimated 13 124 865 people fully vaccinated at this stage.
