We’re used to pre-order bonuses being rather boring in the form of some inconsequential downloadable content or a worthless bauble like a keychain. For Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, however, you can get a movie ticket to the upcoming Uncharted film.

This has been revealed by local online retailer Raru who is offering this to both those who pre-order the game now, or any customer who has already bought the game from their store.

“Between now and 23:59 PM on 27th January 2022, pre-order UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection (PS5) from RARU and get a voucher code for one standard 2D movie ticket to see the UNCHARTED movie in participating theatres from 18 February 2022. Age restrictions apply,” the announcement reads.

For those who, justifiably, haven’t been to a movie theatre in some time, let’s look at what value this is offering customers.

Let’s use another Tom Holland movie as an example for ticket pricing at cinemas, as Raru is offering tickets for either Ster-Kinekor or Nu Metro.

Right now a standard 2D showing of Spider-Man: No Way Home costs R98 at Ster-Kinekor and R95 at Nu Metro.

Because of this, if you can get Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves for a discount that’s less than the cost of the ticket, it may be worth shopping elsewhere.

Raru is charging R869 for pre-orders of the game right now so another store would have to sell the game for around R771 – R774 to match the value of the offer. That is, of course, assuming those who pre-order will also want to see the movie in theatres.

It should also be noted that this is a 2D ticket, so those wanting to see the movie in 3D are out of luck.

Other terms and conditions about the promotion from Raru should also be considered:

• Movie vouchers will be issued digitally by email
• Customers can specify Ster Kinekor (T&Cs) or Nu Metro (T&Cs) tickets. You can enter the information in the Shipping Notes field at Checkout. Otherwise we will contact you by email to check your cinema preference with you.
• Voucher code delivered via email on or around 4 February 2022. (Two weeks before the film is released on 18 Feb. 2021)
