Elden Ring PC specs are here, for real this time

A few days ago the PC requirements Elden Ring were briefly published on Steam and removed, but now we have a proper announcement about what you need to run the next FromSoftware title.

Thankfully for those still running older hardware because of the shortages or any other reason, the specifications here are not unreasonable.

The oddity here is the seeming mismatch between some of these numbers. 12GB / 16GB of RAM are needed which is rather high, especially when compared to the only 3GB / 4GB / 8GB of VRAM specified here.

It’s been theorised that this amount of RAM – combined with DirectX 12 – are to accommodate for the large world the players will be exploring.

For GPUs in the recommended side there’s a GTX 1070 8GB or the RX Vega 56 8GB. According to Steam’s hardware survey the venerable GTX 1060 is the most popular card on the entirety of the platform, but it won’t cut it here. That being said PC requirements have always been more of a suggestion and we’re sure many owners of the card will be trying their luck.

As hyped as everyone is for Elden Ring the game looks like a graphical powerhouse so we’re not too surprised that the hardware needed to run it is rather sensible.

Finally, circling back to that leak from a few days ago, that early information was correct. Only the minimum specs were leaked and they are the same as the now final specs we have in the table below. The Steam page for the game was the source of this information but at the time of writing it has not been updated to reflect the final specs.

Elden Ring launches on 25th February for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and, of course, PC.
