Jackass Forever will now release in South Africa on 11th March

South African fans looking forward to watching Jackass Forever may have been surprised to find that it was not available in the country through either Ster-Kinekor or Nu Metro, making it impossible to see in theatres. Thankfully we now have an update on the situation.

Jackass Forever will launch in South Africa on 11th March.

According to temporary theatrical release schedules that we receive the film was planned to release in the country on 4th February. The film disappeared from this schedule after October 2021 and was also not listed on the booking websites of the aforementioned Ster-Kinekor or Nu Metro leading up to this February release.

This was also the international release date as we can see 4th February pop up at the end of the official final trailer, embedded at the bottom of this story.

To find out what is happening with the South African launch we contacted the local distributor of the film, United International Pictures (UIP), who confirmed to us this new date of 11th March.

Most of the original Jackass crew is returning for this movie with Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man and more back for another go.

The one big exclusion is Bam Margera who was initially attached to the movie, but was removed from the project, allegedly because of substance abuse problems.

“Celebrating the joy of being back together with your best friends and a perfectly executed shot to the dingdong, the original jackass crew return for another round of hilarious, wildly absurd, and often dangerous displays of comedy with a little help from some exciting new cast. Johnny and the team push the envelope even further in jackass forever – now playing only in theatres,” reads the description for the movie on its website.

It’s a bit sad that a through line of the movie is reuniting with friends only for one of the cast to be left out, but at least most of the crew are here again for one last ride.

As for the performance of the movie overseas, it had a very successful launch and managed to rake in millions despite the ongoing pandemic.
