One day left to apply to Unisa for first semester 2022

Students thinking of registering for studies at the University of South Africa (Unisa) will need to do so soon as the opportunity to do so will close in one day.

On 4th February 2022 registrations will close. This is an extended window as the original closure date was 31st January.

Returning students will be all too familiar with constantly shifting dates at Unisa with triple and even quadruple delays happening regularly.

A date change happened just this week too when the final date for tuition payments was moved to 17th February. Previously the date of 4th February – AKA the final day of registration – was also the day that students needed to have paid for their modules.

With all these dates in mind it’s always recommended to engage with Unisa far in advance of any due dates they provide. This will give students more time to work out any issues they may encounter.

Stay online as much as possible

Unisa has continually in the past recommended that all registrations, payments and other interactions done with the university should be online.

This has been the stance of the university even before the pandemic and this continues even now with Unisa reminding students to go online just a few hours ago (see the Twitter embed below).

Before the pandemic students would go to university campuses to get staff help with problems encountered with the various online platforms and, while that is still an option, it’s a tricky one.

Aside from the pandemic two campuses are also shuttered at the moment due to student protests. Those who require extra contact with Unisa are directed to the contact us page, but as we’ve discussed in the past the email and phone addresses here are not reliable.
