Unisa student struggling with myUnisa? Join these livestreams

New students at the University of South Africa (Unisa) will need to become very comfortable with myUnisa, the student portal which handles much of the interaction with the school.

To get students familiar with the system, Unisa will be hosting a series of webinars throughout February which will be hosted on Microsoft Teams.

“myUnisa is Unisa’s academic student portal. As a registered student, you will use this portal to access valuable information, such as announcements, administration functions, and your registered modules (myModules). To make your student experience at Unisa more enjoyable and accessible, we have upgraded the portal. To prepare you with the skills needed to navigate the portal, we will be hosting a series of Student Training Webinars,” the announcement reads.

These webinars will cover everything from first logging in to accessing learning materials, submitting assignments, viewing grades and more.

Below is the schedule for series of livestreams which start on 8th February and end on 25th February. Some of the webinars only have one large hopper for students, while others are broken into smaller groups for “Blast Sessions” which have a focus on interaction between students and the organisers.

  • 8th February | 10:00 – 12:00
  • 16th February | 10:00 – 12:00
  • 18th February | 10:00 – 12:00 | Blast Sessions
  • 22nd February | 10:00 – 12:00
  • 25th February | 10:00 – 12:00 | Blast Sessions

Unfortunately all of these streams take place in the same timeslot which can make it difficult for those working full time should their lunch break not coincide with the time. It doesn’t help either that all of the schedules dates are week days.

The only consolation here is that students are free to join as many sessions as they like.

Students who run into any trouble accessing this content can see the official flier for the webinars here (PDF) or they can contact the organisers at ADOVH[AT]unisa[DOT]ac[DOT]za.
