Camp Cretaceous dinosaurs come to Jurassic World Evolution 2

We are used to seeing crossovers of two completely different franchises but today we instead have two parts of the Jurassic World / Jurassic Park franchise crossing over as dinosaurs from Camp Cretaceous arrive in the game Jurassic World Evolution 2.

For those out of the loop, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is an animated show started in 2020 that is available on Netflix. Dinosaurs featured in that show will now be added to Jurassic World Evolution 2 as a paid content pack.

This pack will contain two new dinos (Scorpios rex and Monolophosaurus), two new variants for existing ones (Ouranosaurus and Ouranosaurus) and eight new skins:

  • One Ankylosaurus skin – Bumpy
  • Three Baryonyx skins – Grim, Limbo, Chaos
  • One Carnotaurus skin – Toro
  • Two Parasaurolophus Lux skins – Lux 1 (glow in the dark), Lux 2 (glow in the dark)
  • One Tyrannosaurus rex skin – Big Eatie

On top of this paid content today will also see the release of “Update 2” which is free and contains many improvements to the sandbox mode, additional decorations (40+) for parks, placeable trees, a first person view, a Species Viewer, quality of life improvements and support for Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA).

The Species Viewer is particularly exciting to us and a screenshot of the always popular Tyrannosaurs Rex inside of this mode can be seen right here. This options lets players get a better view of the greatly modelled dinosaurs in the game.

“You can cycle through the Skin and Pattern colours you’ve unlocked, as well as adjust the positioning of the lighting and colour grading, and you can also play a few looped animations to see how they move when they walk, run, fly, or swim, to name a few,” reads the description for this mode.

Another nice feature inside of the Species Viewer is a pronunciation guide that will provide written and audio cues to properly repeat the names of these extinct animals.

More details about Update 2 can be found in the announcement here but, later today, even more extensive patch notes will be released.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
