Monster Trucks Expansion arrives in Hot Wheels Unleashed

Hot Wheels Unleashed released back in September 2021, but it’s still receiving updates and the latest is the Monster Trucks Expansion which contains exactly what you think.

“Everything is oversized in this expansion: wheels, vehicles, jumps and even the fun! Experience the thrills of driving these epic monsters and unleash a fury that knows no obstacles. 5 new vehicles to add to your collection: Race Ace, Tiger Shark, HW Demo Derby, 5 Alarm and the legendary Bone Shaker in its Monster Truck version, ready for even more terrific performances!,” reads the expansion description.

You can see the new monster trucks in header image above and, for something more animated, there’s a trailer at the bottom of this story.

The bigger cars don’t arrive alone, however. There’s a new environment to race in called Stop Motion Studio and a new track builder module to customise things.

Also for customisation is new items for the Basement, the in-universe setting where all the races in Hot Wheels Unleashed take place.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The Monster Trucks Expansion is paid content which can be bought on its own or part of the “Pass Vol. 2” which is essentially a second season pass for the game.

There has been quite a lot of content to fill two season passes, however.

All of this definitely drives up the price of the game and it’s looking more and more like something that we can wait longer for so all the DLC can be released and bundled together for a decent price.

The “Ultimate Stunt Edition” of the game does come with absolutely all the DLC included but it’s still rather expensive even as we approach a year since the original release.
