10 series to catch-up on with your shiny new Disney+ subscription

For those who haven’t been online today or over the last few months for that matter, Disney+ has finally launched in South Africa today.

That means that South Africans can finally access a dump truck of exclusive content from the House of Mouse without having to jump through hoops.

Taking a scroll through the content offering on Disney+, there is a lot on offer. From classic series like Buffy: The Vampire Slayer to the newer content such as The Kardashians. It’s rather impressive how robust the offering is here.

Since it’s launch though, Disney+ has become the home for Marvel content and while understandable, it meant that until now if you wanted to watch Marvel series, you couldn’t, at least not legally.

As such, we’ve compiled a list of series that you may want to add to your watchlist.

Moon Knight

A gift shop employee, Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) becomes plagued by blackouts and memories of another life. After discovering he shares a body with a mercenary Grant uncovers a deadly mystery.

Loki

After sowing havoc with the Avengers, Loki is picked up by the Time Variance Authority and forced to address a threat that puts the world and existence in danger.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye follows the story of Kate Bishop who is set to take over the role of Hawkeye from Clint Barton.

What If…?

This series imagines the world of Marvel rather differently to how we’ve come to know it. What if Steve Rogers wasn’t Captain America? What if T’Challa was Star Lord? This series asks all of those questions and more.

The Falcon and the Winter Solider

Two of Captain America’s best pals team up after the events of Avengers Endgame to fight crime and test their abilities.

Wandavision

This series follows Vision and Wanda Maximoff in an idyllic setting where they live seemingly perfect lives. But all is not well beneath the surface and before long the pair start to suspect something is wrong.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian

Launched in 2019, The Child captured everybody’s attention but the story of a lone bounty hunter played by Pedro Pascal is what kept folks coming back for two seasons.

Star Wars: Visions

This anthology series showcases the talents of some of the world’s best anime creators as they tell stories in the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand navigate the underworld of the universe with plans of claiming Jabba The Hutt’s old turf on Tatooine for themselves.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

This is Jeff Goldblum exploring the world around him and learning more about things he enjoys. Do you really need us to tell you more?

These are just the series that are available. Disney+ is packed with movies and documentaries as well.

Pricing for Disney is set at R119 per month which gives you access to seven profiles, 4K streaming and up to four concurrent streams at once. You can also opt to pay R1 190 for a full year of access. You can sign up for Disney+ and browse the full catalogue without paying for a subscription here.
