Unisa provides step by step guide for exam prep

The University of South Africa (Unisa) wants its students to be as prepared as possible for the May / June 2022 exams, which may have already started for students depending on their modules.

To assist with this it has released a step by step guide for exam preparations which you can find below or on the Unisa website.

While this was released in the past it has been re-shared by the university recently and is worth pointing out now, especially for those who may have left their exam prep to the last minute.

Reading through the guide and it’s relatively straightforward though we do want to add in a bit of extra information that some may have missed around step three for proctoring tools, the various software and procedures Unisa has in place to ensure the right people are sitting for their exams and no cheating is going on.

Just last week Unisa put out an announcement stating that students with special needs and students currently incarcerated are exempt from using the proctoring tools and “alternative processes” are in place for them.

  1. “It is important that you know ahead of time when your module is written by accessing your examination timetable.
  2. All your examinations question papers will be available on the myExams platform.  Test your access prior to the sitting of the examination by clicking on your module code on the day of your examination. To access your examination question paper or multiple-choice questions visit the myExams platform.
  3. It’s equally important to determine the proctoring tool that will be utilised for your examination by following the proctoring tool link and inserting your module code.
  4. Adequately prepare yourself by watching training videos and reading through navigation guidelines. Visit the invigilation section on the Essential tips for online examinations webpage.
  5. Attend training on the Training schedule and practice both your file-upload/take-home examination and MCQ/Quiz examination by partaking in the mock examination on ADOVH001.
  6. Read the May/June 2022 online examination rules  thoroughly to familiarise yourself with the Do’s and Don’ts prior to your examination sitting.
