Xiaomi launches Redmi 10 2022 in SA for R4k

Xiaomi has been on a tear of late when it comes to launching new smartphones in South Africa, whether it be under its own banner or that of the POCO brand. The latest offering from the company sits in between the entry-level and mid-range spaces in the form of the Redmi 10 2022.

As the name would suggest, the Redmi 10 2022 features a similar body to last year’s mid-range phone, but crucially adds some refreshed components internally for a relatively solid price.

To that end this latest offering is recommended to retail for R3 999, with retailers like Takealot already listing it.

So what does it pack for R4k?

The Redmi 10 2022 has a 6.5″ FullHD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Added to this is an octoa-core MediaTek Helio G88 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage in both the Carbon Grey and Sea Blue (pictured above) colour options.

In terms of photography an 8MP selfie camera is present up front and on the rear a 50MP primary option is found, which is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensing lenses.

As for other internal elements, a 5 000mAh battery is powering things, with it supporting 18W fast charging and a 22.5W charger included in the box with this device.

For cost savvy Android phone users, this might be a good option worth considering.
