Love it or hate it, actually playing Fall Guys one of the best things created from it has been the “lore” and mystique around its playable characters sometimes called Beans and their weird anatomy, fuelled by the makers of the game Mediatonic.

The most well known example of this is this insane image in which Mediatonic confirmed that the Beans are six feet tall and have human skeletons.

The latest in this is the image below which shows human hands pressing out from just below the surface of the creature.

As you can see from the Twitter thread above the inspiration for this is a picture of a person in a Fall Guys costume with the wearer’s hand visible through the material of the suit.

Someone at Mediatonic took this image and ran with it producing the scarier version above which, we have to add, has four hands instead of just two so we have to assume there’s two humans stuck in there.

All of this is, of course, just a bit of fun. On a meta level it’s very clever marketing from Mediatonic as it turns a simple session in Photoshop into something which creates discussion about the game.

Other weird marketing stunts from the team include sponsoring a bench of all things. “Bench” isn’t some weird gaming term, it’s a regular park bench people can sit on.

Fall Guys recently made the jump to free to play as mandated by Epic Games which did the same for Rocket League, so there’s reason to market the game again.

This move saw the game shoot up to 20 million users but it remains to be seen if this momentum will carry on into the future.
