The new Nokia G21 available in SA starting at R3 499

In February HMD Global announced the new Nokia G21 as the latest addition to the G series, but now the device is available on South African shores.

The big selling points on this device, according to HMD, are the three days worth of battery life from the massive 5 050mAh battery onboard, as well as the three years worth of security updates.

As such, HMD is billing this device as being able to last long and be secure while doing so. The battery is also supported by 18W fast charging.

Looking at some of the other notable features, a large 6.5″ display is present that delivers a 1600×720 resolution and up to 90Hz refresh rate. Added to this is a trio of lenses on the rear, with a 50MP option serving as the primary shooter and supported by a 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensing lenses.

Up front is an 8MP selfie camera which is housed in a rounded screen notch at the top of the display.

Running things is a Unisoc T606 processor, as HMD looks to strengthen its relationship with the Chinese silicon maker, which also created the processor for the Nokia T20 Tablet.

“Since we introduced the G-series last year, we’ve enhanced each new addition that has followed in every way – the Nokia G21 encompasses all our hard work. And not only today, but for years to come thanks to our regular software updates and quality materials,” notes Florian Seiche, CEO at HMD Global, regarding this new device.

“We believe in connecting the world without costing the earth. We want to empower people to feel good about keeping their smartphone for longer and combat the upgrade culture so we can all reduce our carbon footprint,” he adds.

If you are interested in this latest smartphone, the Nokia G21 is available in South Africa in Nordic Blue and Dusk, with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 4GB RAM/128GB storage variants starting at R3 499.
