Crypto Fest heads back to Cape Town in September

Now in it’s fourth year, Crypto Fest is heading back to Cape Town at the end of September for a virtual and in-person event highlighting, celebrating and discussing all things cryptocurrency.

This year’s event will form part of a Week of Innovation in Cape Town in collaboration with the SA Innovation Summit.

“The Crypto Fest will ignite hard-hitting conversations and spark critical debates on the hottest cryptocurrency, Non-Fungible Token (NFT), Metaverse, Web3.0 and Decentralised Finance (DeFi) topics and host a one-of-a-kind experience on how these technologies and communities are remaking the world of finance, investments, art, music, sport, gaming, entertainment, marketing, governance and more,” the organisers of Crypto Fest, Bitcoin Events, wrote in an emailer sent to Hypertext.

Given that this is both an in-person and virtual event, tickets are rather varied this time around. As of time of writing the following ticket options – along with pricing – are available:

  • In-person general access ticket – R680/$45;
  • In-person student ticket – R280/$18;
  • In-person VIP ticket – R1 950/$125;
  • In-person Early adopter After-Party ticket – R250/$16;
  • Virtual live-streaming ticket – R100/$6;
  • In-person whale ticket – Price TBC.

As this is Crypto Fest, tickets can be purchased using a range of cryptocurrencies including BTC, XMR, LTC, DOGE, DCR, ETH, LNBT and XRP. Tickets can be purchased at this URL.

The theme for this event is “Don’t Look Up” a play on the Netflix Original film Don’t Look Up. The theme is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the change that is a foot within the crypto space.

“Change is coming to the crypto-DeFi-NFT-Web3 space too, and now is the time to ‘look up’ and see the changes – but also the opportunities,” writes Bitcoin Events.

Expect a line-up of engaging speakers, thought provoking presentations, a market place, booths and more.

Crypto Fest Cape Town 2022 is happening on 30th September and you can read more about it here.
