Samsung expected to debut latest series of foldables on 10th August

On the back of news that it was purchasing OLED foldable display startup Cynora, Samsung was expected to be developing more foldable phones and devices down the line.

While we are still a little ways off from those products seeing the light of day, we could see some new foldables next month from the South Korean outfit.

This as serial leaker Evan Blass has taken to Twitter to share a doctored image for a Galaxy Unpacked event on 10th August. At the time of writing there is no official word from Samsung on an event early next month, but given Blass’s history on previous leaks, this is more than likely happening.

Said device is unknown for now, but given the silhouette in the image above, it is probably a new Galaxy Z Flip iteration. The other device rumoured for said event is the Galaxy Z Fold4, which has been leaked previously, but does not appear to veer from the design of its predecessors.

As such, Samsung will more than likely update components for both of its new foldable phones, with new processors and camera array expected.

Whether a new iteration of foldable display is coming too, remains unclear for now, as is the opportunity to recess a stylus into the frame of the phones, as was the case with the Galaxy S22 Ultra earlier this year.

With the cost of living increasing with each passing month currently, not to mention the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 launching only a year ago, it will be interesting to see what kind of appetite there is for new foldables.
