In 2023 the University of South Africa (Unisa) is celebrating its 150 anniversary in a unique way by asking students to vote on a logo for the occasion.
While that may sound rather simple the university goes on to provide explanations and further details about each of the seven logos which shows the thought that went into them and what they are supposed to represent.
Consider the logo in the header image above, which is number seven out of the seven possible logos that are being considered.
“Unisa is celebrating its 150th anniversary with the theme being 150 years and still evolving. The low angle photo of the iconic Unisa building symbolises its majestic stature and its vast reach in the academic field. The circuit symbolises the Institute’s technological advancements, cyber physical systems, Al, robotics and its overall footprint in the fourth industrial revolution (4IP). The composition of the logo is symbolic of Unisa’s transformation trades and advancements from traditional ways of teaching to innovative next level systems as well as the institute’s prestigious 150 years evolution milestone,” the description reads.
That building is the famous main campus located in Muckleneuk which rises out of the horizon and is quite a sight for those visiting the area.
As mentioned that is only one of the logos with the all seven viewable in the image below. They can be seen in better detail, along with their descriptions, in this PDF.
Those who would like to vote can do so in this Microsoft Forms link by logging in with their myLife e-mail account details.
