Apple expected to reveal iPhone 14 at 7th September event

Rumoured to have an event in the works for early September, we now have confirmation from Apple that is indeed hosting a product-focused event on 7th September. While the company has not detailed what said products will be, it is widely believed that the new iPhone 14 series will be the main attraction.

The event is scheduled to begin at 19:00 SAST, with those interested in the new iPhone capable of watching the live stream over on Apple’s YouTube page. There is already a placeholder video for the live streamed event, which we have embedded below too, so you can return here come 7th September.

The tag line for this event is “Far Out”, which is likely a nod to the recent images of the universe shared by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). It may also have something to do with the zooming capabilities on the new iPhone 14, but we may be reaching there.

What is almost certain though, is that Apple will introduce four models of iPhone 14, with two normal models at different sizes and two Pro models at different sizes. We are also led to believe that there will be no Mini option this time around.

As for other rumours, Apple could finally be doing away with its screen notch, which many of its competitors have long since removed from phones. This may be limited to the Pro models, however, which if true, would leave a bit of a sour taste for those customers who cannot afford those options.

Apple is also expected to be debuting a new Watch come 7th September, with these models included an extreme sports or outdoor focused option.

With more recent iterations of iPhone failing to impress like its predecessors have done, hopefully the Cupertino-based firm has more than no notch up its sleeve.
