Discounts help Forza and Red Dead to climb Steam charts

As it does every week, unofficial tracking site Steam Database (SteamDB) has provided a top ten list for the global top sellers on Steam, and this past seven days has been a bit of a surprise as older titles Forza Horizon 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have finished near the top.

This success of these games has been thanks to sales. Forza Horizon 4 in second place is currently 67 percent off while Red Dead Redemption 2 in third place is 50 percent off.

Other discounted games on the list include Forza Horizon 5 in eight (30 percent off) and Titanfall 2 in ninth (84 percent off).

If you still haven’t played Titanfall 2 we can’t recommend it enough and at that price you shouldn’t miss it.

  1. Steam Deck | 1st last week
  2. Forza Horizon 4
  3. Red Dead Redemption 2 | 10th last week
  4. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered | 4th last week
  5. NBA 2K23
  6. Cult of the Lamb | 7th last week
  7. Disney Dreamlight Valley
  8. Forza Horizon 5
  9. Titanfall 2 | 8th last week

Looking at the rest of the list at what placed without a sale and the Steam Deck continues its many months of first place victories.

In terms of newcomers to the list, NBA 2K23 and Disney Dreamlight Valley have both appeared after launching in the last week. Both are unique cases as NBA 2K23 has been critically panned so far and Disney Dreamlight Valley is in Early Access. These are both factors working against the titles appearing in future lists.

Finally, Elden Ring continues to cling to top ten making it in right at the end this week. The game has appeared in most of these lists since it launched in February of this year and, impressively, it has managed to do so without ever going on sale.

We have to wonder if 2022 will come and go before the PC port of Elden Ring has its priced reduced. The next big sale on Steam is likely the Halloween Sale in October, so we will need to do some waiting before we find out.
