Musk pushes Neuralink briefing back to 30th November

  • Elon Musk had originally planned a show and tell event for Neuralink at the end of October.
  • Now he has pushed it back a full month, but did not give a precise reason for the delay.
  • With nothing tangible being showcased to date, many are wanting to see precisely what the Neuralink team has accomplished so far.

With Elon Musk embroiled in so many other dealings, you may have been forgiven for forgetting about his Neuralink venture.

The last update we received from the company, which aims to embed implants into people’s brains in order to tackle cognitive and neurological issues, was a video just shy of four minutes featuring a monkey with said implant playing Pong.

Those hoping to find out more later this month, when Musk had originally planned a show and tell come 31st October, will now need to wait a little while longer.

This as Musk delayed said event by a full month, confirming so on the platform he always does, Twitter. Now the show and tell is set for 30th November.

As is his usual modus operandi, Musk did not explain precisely why the show and tell has been delayed. If we had to venture a guess, it is likely down to the fact that Musk is currently trying to complete his purchase of Twitter.

At the time of writing, he has until Friday afternoon on 28th October to reach and agreement, with failure to do so resulting in the legal proceedings between both parties starting up again.

There might then be a few more pressing matters for Musk to deal with currently than an update on Neuralink. That said, hopefully something more tangible will be in the offing come 30th November, with the company coming in for criticism over its treatment of animals for this new endeavour.
