How to solve the Medali gym Treasure Eatery puzzle in Pokémon

The gyms in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are on the easy side but where some people may struggle is the Medali gym which asks players to solve a puzzle at a restaurant called the Treasure Eatery.

We’re going to give you the full answer to this puzzle but, before that, we should point out the steps to take to solve it on your own.

It should be noted that, before this, the middle section of the restaurant where most of the dinners are located is inaccessible. A small ledge prevents your player character from entering, even though it looks like it would be easy to get in.

First, talk to a man at the bar in the restaurant (top left corner of the building) for the first clue, then simply run around the town to find trainers who can be battled, indicated by a yellow text box that appears over their head when you approach.

Defeating each will give you clues to solve the puzzle, which is a special order you need to place at the Treasure Eatery.

You can initiate the order by speaking to the hostess at the front of the restaurant who will give you several categories for sections of the orders. Choosing the right selection in each category will solve the puzzle and allow you to challenge the gym leader and complete the mission.

Below are the categories that the hostess will ask you to select from, with the right answer in bold.

Food type

  • Grilled rice balls
  • Grilled fish
  • Steak
  • Omelette
  • Fried eggs

Serving size

  • Small serving
  • Medium serving
  • Large serving

Cooking style

  • Lightly charred, Ember style
  • Well-cooked, Flamethrower style
  • Extra crisp, Fire Blast style

Garnish

  • Cheese powder
  • Lemon
  • Nothing, thanks

Should you fail to input the right order, there’s no consequence at all and you can simply try again as many times as you please. Success will see the aforementioned main dining area turned into a battlefield where you can then fight the gym leader on.

The Medali gym leader, and the trainers who give you the clues, use Normal Type Pokémon so as long as your team is at a decent level with one or two Fighting Type attacks, you should be fine.
