Huge Networks and Huge Telecom are joining forces

  • Huge Telecoms and Huge Networks are combining forces to form a new entity.
  • The decision to combine the companies when Huge Management noted several synergies between the two entities.
  • Huge Telecom and Huge Networks hope to grow turnover to $300 million.

Huge Group is hoping to unlock revenue and scale its business as it announced the Business Combination of its Huge Networks and Huge Telecom entities.

The group says that the executive team at Huge Management continually monitors Huge’s investments and it noted “significant synergies” between the two entities.

These include Huge Networks’ National Operating Centre which can be incorporated into Huge Telecom’s products and product development.

Huge Telecom was established in 1993 and has since established a national footprint and customer base.

Huge Networks is relatively younger having been established in 1998 as a provider of network-agnostic wholesale voice and data services. Together, these two entities should prove to be a force to be reconned with.

The combined business – which doesn’t have a name as of time of writing – will be overseen by Dr Marius Oberholzer.

“The primary goal right now is to establish a stronger, more capable business with a combined turnover of some R270m and grow that beyond R300m in the very near-term with March 2023 as the focus,” Oberholzer said in a statement sent to Hypertext.

In order to do this, Oberholzer points to Huge’s expanded product and service catalogue as a driver of this proposed growth.

In addition, the combined entity will have a presence in Gauteng and Western Cape as well as Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Escort, East London, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Kimberly and George. Widening the potential customer base will surely help expand the reach of the business.

In a SENS announcement to shareholders, Huge Group said, that it would seek to grow its customer base of more than 19 000 business and SME customers.

“The combined team is positive, motivated and excited to get on with the task of building a stronger national brand supported by a robust national footprint and underpinned by outstanding technical expertise,” said Oberholzer.

The combination of these two entities is being implemented immediately with a view to conclude the procedure by 1st March 2023.

With this new entity, Huge will be able to offer customers an expanded product and service range including an Integrated Telephony Solution with dedicated voice transmission and data capabilities that comprise the full spectrum of bearers including fixed 5G and LTE, carrier-grade fibre services and broadband fibre-to-the-business services.

In addition, the proposition expands to include data hosting services and platforms, SD-WAN solutions and various security applications.
