Tarsus on Demand appoints Managing Director

  • Senzo Mbhele will be taking up the mantle of Managing Director effective 1st March 2023.
  • This follows the announcement of the departure of Anton Herbst in 2022.
  • The appointment comes as Alviva Holdings begins a delisting.

Following the resignation of Anton Herbst as chief executive officer at Tarsus on Demand (TOD) and Tarsus Technology Group in November 2022, TOD has selected a new managing director (MD).

Senzo Mbhele (pictured) will be taking up that mantle effective 1st March 2023. The new MD joined Tarsus Technology Group in 2016. As Head of Innovation and Employee Experience, Mbhele helped to push the group’s strategy throughout its divisions and teams. He delivered strategic workshops, analysis and insights that contributed to informed decision-making at an executive level.

“It’s an honour to assume this role,” Mbhele said. “I have been part of the ExCo for two years, contributing to business and strategy development, and customers and partners can be assured that they remain at the centre of our organisation. We will continue to solidify our current strategy and celebrate creativity in support of our entire ecosystem.”

Mbhele is assuming the position as Tarsus Technology Group’s owner, Alviva Holdings undergoes a delisting following a take-private offer that was approved earlier this week. The offer sees a consortium paying R28 per share to take the firm private according to a report from TechCentral.

Chief executive officer at Alviva Holdings, Pierre Spies said Mbhele’s appointment fulfills the firm’s succession plan for leadership.

“We went through a rigorous and extensive process to determine the most suitable person for the job, and we are delighted to have appointed an experienced and insightful leader from within our ranks. We congratulate Senzo and wish him well as he takes over the reins,” said Spies.

According to a press release, Herbst will consult for Tarsus Technology Group and help support the group as it transitions.
