OPPO embraces foldables with new Find N2 Flip

  • Yesterday OPPO revealed its latest foldable phone in the form of the Find N2 Flip.
  • The new device was also named the official phone of the UEFA Champions League, with OPPO a key sponsor.
  • The OPPO offering also bares a striking resemblance to Samsung’s recent Flip.

When it comes to foldables, Samsung has been flying the flag the highest, but it now looks like Chinese outfit OPPO is putting its weight behind the category of smartphones too. This as the company revealed a new foldable device in the form of the Find N2 Flip.

The Find N2 Flip has also been announced as the official smartphone of the UEFA Champions League, with it appearing during last night’s fixtures as OPPO is a key sponsor for the tournament.

Taking a closer look at the device, it terms of design, it is eerily similar to the Galaxy Z Flip4 that Samsung debuted last year, with the Astral Black and Moonlit Purple colour options a close match to flavours that Samsung made available too.

That said, there is little phone makers can do to differentiate when it comes to the clamshell foldable design at this stage.

Moving on, on the cover is a 3.26″ display that offers specific levels of navigation and UI interaction, along with serving as a mirror or viewfinder for taking selfies or recording vlog-style footage. This is paired with a 50MP primary camera and 8MP ultra wide-angle option, both fine tuned by Hasselblad.

Shifting to the main display, it is 6.8″ when unfolded and made from flexible OLED to deliver a FullHD+ (2520×1080) resolution. It is unclear how pronounced the screen crease is on the phone, but we may get a better look should the Find N2 Flip land locally. There’s also a 32MP front facing camera.

As for the internals, a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset is present, offering 5G connectivity too. On the battery side of things, a 4 300mAh unit is present, with 44W fast charging added to the mix as well.

At the time of writing, there is no word on whether the Find N2 Flip will arrive in South Africa, but we will of course update our readers if that changes. In the interim, the new foldable is available for £849 (~R18 436) in the UK.
