The opening 25 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy

Earlier today, the review embargo for Hogwarts Legacy broke. You can read our review of the game here, which is solid in its presentation, but lacks anything truly exciting to get fans of the source material invested.

That said, there are a few elements to enjoy, not to mention several nods to the books littered throughout the castle and its surroundings.

With that in mind, we have shared the first 25 minutes of the game, essentially the prologue, along with the character customisation portion before things get started. In this, you can choose from a wide series of preset faces, and from there refine elements like eye colour, hairstyle, complexion, pitch of voice, and more. Not to mention giving your protagonist a name, and surname, which appears on screen during the subtitled dialogue portions of the game.

The actual start of the game sees your protagonist heading off for their first day at Hogwarts, accompanied by your mentor throughout the game, Professor Fig. Your character is starting at Hogwarts as a fifth-year student, which is quite peculiar. Along your journey to the castle, you are attacked by a dragon, and soon find yourself embroiled in a typical secret that surrounds this institution.

Hogwarts Legacy officially releases on 10th February.

Our footage was captured on a PS5 console thanks to a review code provided by the local distributor of the game.
