• MoyaApp has announced a new phone repair insurance offering that costs R15 per month.
• The insurance is made available through a partnership with Root and Monitor Administrators.
• It covers everyday repairs regardless of the age or value of the phone.

Smartphones get pricier with each new release, especially on the premium end of things. To assist in ensuring said smartphones stay in top condition, a number of manufacturers make phone repair services available over a fixed period.

Those services, however, often carry a large price tag themselves, and might not cover as much as you’d want to. This is why the data-free MoyaApp has announced a new phone repair insurance offering, which costs R15 per month.

MoyaApp has has partnered with the Root digital insurance platform and Monitor Administrators, underwritten by Guardrisk, to make phone repair insurance available to anyone who uses its app.

“The new mobile phone repair insurance takes care of everyday phone repairs, regardless of the age or value of the phone. MoyaApp users can get a quote, sign up for insurance cover, claim via the MoyaApp, and pay premiums using their MoyaPay wallet,” the company explained in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“With the new insurance product, we have made repairs easy. The process is simple and easy for anyone to do – all via the MoyaApp. There is no need to go to a store, pay for prints of your ID book and no need to walk and queue to submit papers and pay. The claims process can all be accessed datafree online, with support to arrange for the phone to be repaired directly, once again removing friction and hassle for the user and delivering an inexpensive and necessary service,” added Nicholas Bednall, CCO at Moya.
