Liquid C2 opens third Cyber Security Fusion Centre

  • The latest Cyber Security Fusion Centre opened by Liquid C2 is in Zambia.
  • The centre joins two others located in Johannesburg and Kenya and will provide additional intelligence for cybersecurity efforts across Africa.
  • The centre also gives Liquid C2 customers access to managed cybersecurity services.

Liquid C2, a Cassava Technologies business, has opened the doors of its third Cyber Security Fusion Centre. This centre is located in Zambia and joins the network together with centres in Johannesburg and Kenya.

The centre will help make Liquid C2’s cybersecurity intelligence more robust while also giving Zambian customers access to real-time cybersecurity alerts and advisory services. Customers in the region will also be able to leverage Liquid C2’s managed cybersecurity services.

“Launching Liquid C2’s third Cyber Security Fusion Centre in Zambia is critical in safeguarding the country’s digital economy. Adding the Cyber Security Fusion Centre to the country’s cybersecurity infrastructure will strengthen our ability to protect vital small businesses from increasing cybercrime threats, as it focuses on bolstering the growth of the small businesses sector,” chief executive officer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zambia, Mark Townsend said in a press statement.

By opening these Cyber Security Fusion Centres across the continent, Liquid C2 will have a better understanding of the threats African business owners face. Most importantly, this information is available in real-time allowing for the identification, mitigation and protection of customers in real-time.

Furthermore, it gives Liquid C2 insight into the different attack methods cybercriminals use across the continent. For example, text message scams are incredibly popular in Zambia given the fact that 75 percent of the population own a smartphone compared to just 50 percent owning a PC.

Knowing what threats are prevalent in a region is vital to helping businesses guard against those risks.

“The Centre will offer comprehensive cybersecurity services, including threat intelligence, detection, and incident response, customised to meet the requirements of businesses in Zambia. By providing these services, Liquid C2 aims to enable businesses of all sizes to concentrate on their growth without worrying about the escalating cybersecurity risks,” Townsend added.

If Liquid C2 still intends to build six Cyber Security Fusion Centres as it said back in November, there are three more to come. We are curious to see whether a location is opened in Egypt following Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ acquisition of Cysiv MEA earlier this month. The organisation was rebranded from Cysiv MEA to Liquid C2 so it’s not beyond the realm of possibility for a location to be opened in the Arabic country.
