OPPO launches its first foldable in SA – the Find N2 Flip 5G

  • OPPO South Africa has officially launched its first foldable phone in SA, with the Find N2 Flip 5G landing locally.
  • The new foldable is available from today and will retail for a recommended R28 999.
  • It was revealed ahead of MWC earlier this year, and has taken less than two months to make its way to our shores.

Earlier this year, just before MWC 23 kicked off in Barcelona, OPPO unveiled its latest foldable phone in the form of the Find N2 Flip 5G. Now the device has landed in SA, with OPPO officially launching it last night.

With the foldable phone going on sale in SA from today onwards and carrying a recommended price tag of R28 999 (from R1 199 per month on contract), the Find N2 Flip 5G will likely go head to head against Samsung’s similar offering – the Galaxy Z Flip4.

We could also mention the Huawei P50 Pocket, but its lack of 5G support means it is a little under specced compared to the devices from Samsung and OPPO.

So what is on offer?

The Find N2 Flip comes in two colour options – Astral Black and Moonlit Purple. Looking at the displays, starting on the cover portion of the device, a 3.26″ (720×328) screen is present, with the foldable AMOLED option measuring 6.8″ (2520×1080) when opened up. It remains to be seen how noticeable the crease is on the latter.

Other notable elements include a pair of lenses on the cover, with a 50MP primary and 8MP ultra wide-angle lenses present. As for the front facing option, it is a sizeable 32MP selfie camera.

Powering things internally is an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset, which supports the aforementioned 5G capabilities. Added to this is 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.

The final aspect worth highlighting is the 4 300mAh battery that keeps the N2 Flip 5G ticking over, as well as dual-SIM functionality.
