Despite schools having a holiday, today is still officially a work day in South Africa and we’re in the office to record our weekly podcast.
This week we’re discussing movies, series and games landing in May.
Before that however, we’re discussing the news of the week and even though it was a short one, a lot happened.
For starters, Microsoft’s bid to acquire Activision Blizzard – the subject of last week’s Africast – has been scuppered by the Competition and Markets Authority in the UK. The authority said that the acquisition threatened the emerging market of cloud gaming. Microsoft has said it will appeal this ruling.
Next up, a new trailer launched this week: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and we have Clinton Matos giving us keen insight into the deep lore of the Transformers universe.
Finally, Luis gives us a rundown about the ASUS ROG Ally which has been officially announced. This handheld Windows 11 PC is throwing down with the likes of the Steam Deck from Valve but ASUS has a wider global network. We received word on some specifications of the Ally this week and we hope to see it arriving locally, and at a reasonable price, soon.
