Huawei outlines pledge for local renewable energy

  • Huawei held its FusionSolar 2023 Channel Partner Summit in Johannesburg this week.
  • The company highlighted the commercial value of the PV industry in driving the accelerated development of renewable energy.
  • In the coming two decades, Huawei says it will work with partners to provide ubiquitous energy services in Africa.

Earlier this week Huawei held its FusionSolar 2023 Channel Partner Summit in Johannesburg. At the event the company detailed its full-scenario solar solutions, while also emphasising its commitment to driving the acceleration of renewable energy development in South Africa.

Speaking at the event, Xia Hesheng (pictured in the header above), president of Huawei Digital Power for Sub-Saharan Africa Region, noted the importance of achieving carbon neutrality, and of countries’ pursuit of energy sovereignty.

“Xia believes that businesses can choose to focus on short term targets, but this isn’t always a winning strategy. If you want to do a long term business, you should consider technology, quality, safety, and service, all of which will contribute to the development of the industry in the long term,” Huawei explained in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“In the coming two decades, Huawei will work with partners to provide ubiquitous energy services in Africa,” the Huawei Digital Power president emphasised.

During the Summit, the company also shared its channel policy and new incentive plan for 2023 with partners.

“As a leading vendor in the ICT industry, Huawei’s digital power brings unique value additions to the transformation of the energy industry based on 4T – Bit, Thermal, Watt, Battery technologies. This means that for the long-term development of the PV industry, Huawei can provide partners with strong support of ‘Innovative Products, High Quality & High Safety, Excellent Service, and Premium Brand’,” it pointed out.

Having recently unveiled its residential PV solutions for South Africa, it looks like Huawei is very much focused on becoming a key player in the country’s push to tackle the ongoing energy crisis.
