Astro and Yeti products will now fall under the Logitech G banner

  • Logitech will sell Astro products under its Logitech G banner.
  • Unfortunately the Blue brand will now represent Logitech’s technology, but the Yeti brand will live on.
  • This is seemingly being done to unify the various brands Logitech has acquired over the years.

Peripheral maker Logitech is reorganising its various brands, but doing so in a bizarre way.

As you may be aware, the company owns the Astro and Blue Microphone brands following acquisitions in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Those names will continue to live on in some ways, but under the Logitech G banner.

“We’re excited to announce that the ASTRO Gaming, Blue Microphones and Logitech for Creator teams are joining up with Logitech G! In some instances, we have been partnered together for quite some time; did you know ASTRO joined Logitech back in 2017? This change will drive a deeper connection between gamers and content creators, while giving you a chance to build a setup that allows you to do both,” reads a post from a community manager on Reddit.

The announcement of this shift can’t be found anywhere but Reddit which is just bizarre, but let’s get into the specifics starting with Astro.

Astro will continue to live on as a console audio product within the wider G brand.

The Blue Microphones brand isn’t so lucky. Blue will now be the name used by Logitech to describe it’s technology such as BLUEVO!CE. The Yeti brand, however, will live on underneath the G brand. This is the most confusing change up as Blue was the company that made the Yeti microphone. In future then you’ll want to look for Logitech G Yeti microphones with Blue technology.

Finally, as mentioned in the Reddit post, Logitech for Creators is also being shutdown.

Importantly, warranties will remain in place and no products are being discontinued. This is really just a brand reshuffle for the sake of unifying the company’s various gaming focused products.

It’s curious as to why this decision is being made now and with very little fanfare aside from a tweet and a Reddit post.

Unfortunately, the widely loathed G Hub software doesn’t look to be changing and more products are being added to the software in future. Thankfully, no older products will be added so if you use a product that doesn’t need the software, count yourself lucky.
