MultiChoice has announced that BritBox is now available to its subscribers via a few different avenues.

The streaming service, which launched in South Africa in 2021 and specialises in content from the BBC and ITV, is now available via apps on the Explora Ultra decoder DStv Streama box, or as a bill add-on for subscribers.

This is not the first time that MultiChoice has looked to supercharge its offerings by adding access to streaming services and other online content, having previously made Showmax, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and YouTube Kids available to customers via the Explora Ultra DStv Streama.

“We’re delighted to add BritBox to the range of services our customers can enjoy on our devices, with the added benefit of paying only one bill for all their entertainment,” added Marc Jury, CEO of Multichoice South Africa.

“Through this new partnership with MultiChoice we will bring BritBox’s unparalleled Original series to DStv subscribers across South Africa, express from the UK, as well as the largest collection of British programming, all in one place,” highlighted Reemah Sakaan, CEO BritBox International, in a press release sent to Hypertext.

In terms of content, some highlights on BritBox include Stonehouse, Beyond Paradise, The Confessions of Frannie Langton, and The Cleaner to name a few.

Access to BritBox costs R99.99 per month, with a free 7-day trial also available to those interested in the streaming service.
