Checkers is giving away 120 solar power systems

  • Checkers is giving away 120 solar power systems valued at R100 000 each.
  • Xtra Savings card holders need only shop existing products in order to be entered into the competition.
  • The competition runs until 10th September.

For much of the last year South Africans have been trying to build protections from loadshedding. Now Checkers has launched a competition that is sure to have folks flocking to its store and digital storefront.

The retailer has launched a new competition in which it plans to give away 120 solar power systems between July and September.

The systems in question include:

  • Conti Solar Inverter 5.5KW
  • Conti Battery (Lithium Ion or LiFePO4 100Ah)
  • Six Conti Solar Panels (420W)
  • Conti WiFi module

The prize includes a standard home installation as well.

“With this competition, Checkers aims to provide 120 loyal customers with some relief from the ongoing challenges experienced with loadshedding, as well as an opportunity to experience firsthand the benefits of renewable energy,” chief marketing officer at Checkers, Mike Middleton said in a press release.

How does one enter? For starters, you need to be an Xtra Saving rewards card holder. This is a free loyalty card that gives you access to promotions Checkers offers both in-store and online. Once a member, simply purchase participating products in-store or via the Sixty60 app and you will receive an entry for each.

“The more participating brands customers purchase over this period, the more chances they have of winning,” Checkers explains.

The competition ends 10th September and while it’s not the most incredible solar system out there, it’s a good starting point especially considering that each system is valued at R100 000. With that in mind, this could be a great prize to win just by doing your shopping at Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Checkers Foods and Checkers Liquorshop stores.

Brands that are included in this offer include Roberstons, Energizer, Pledge, Mr Muscle, Gillette, Lancewood and more. You can head to this URL to find out more.
