• PlayStation South Africa has announced a Winter Sale for the PS5 that kicks off tomorrow.
• The company is discounting the console locally by R1 500 until 1st August.
• The Winter Sale is specifically for the disc version of the PS5, as well as selected bundles locally.

If you did not know that South Africa is currently dealing with an extremely cold Winter, last week’s snow in Johannesburg served as a solid reminder. With the rest of July expected to see the mercury remain low, PlayStation SA has announced the big ticket item for its Winter Sale, as it is discounting the PlayStation 5 console slightly from tomorrow.

More specifically it is knocking R1 500 off the asking price from 19th July to 1st August.

The discount will apply at participating, “participating BT Games, Checkers Hyper, Computer Mania, eBucks, FNB, Game, Game4U, HiFi Corp, Hirsch’s, House & Home, Incredible, Expert, KOODOO, Loot, Makro, New World, OK Furniture, Takealot.com, ToyZone, Toys R Us and ZAPA stores,” local distributor Gamefinity confirmed to Hypertext in a release.

It also clarified that the discount applies to the PlayStation 5 Disc Consoles and most bundles, but excludes Digital Consoles and existing promo console/software Bundles, such as God of War Ragnarok, Call of Duty, and Horizon Forbidden West.

While the R1 500 may not seem like much, it could mean the difference between picking up an additional AAA game, another DualSense Controller, or indeed another gaming peripheral.
