Star Wars Jedi: Survivor confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One

  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is getting a port for the previous generation of console.
  • Publisher EA confirmed the news in an earnings call this week, with the latest title set to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One.
  • There is no definitive date yet for the previous-gen port of the game.

Earlier this month, April to be more precise, EA released Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (terrible placement of the : by the way) as an exclusive for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

That exclusivity, however, is set to change as this week EA confirmed that ports on the previous generation of console are in the works for Jedi: Survivor.

The publisher shared the news during a Q1 earnings call, as reported by The Verge.

“Thanks to the strength of this legendary franchise and community demand, our development team has committed to bringing this Jedi experience to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” noted EA CEO Andrew Wilson.

At the time of writing, no precise release date is mentioned for the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game, but the fact that other platforms will be able to experience it is good to hear, especially as 2019’s Jedi: Fallen Order was available on the previous-gen consoles.

That said, with the PC port of not only Survivor but other recent titles failing to deliver the performance that players were hoping for, it will be interesting to see how these upcoming ones will fare.

For now though, it looks like EA is going to blue milk the Star Wars IP for as long as possible when it comes to gaming.
