Huawei has two new smartwatches destined for South Africa’s shores in the form of the Watch GT 4 series.
The series is split between a 46mm and 41mm option, with the former looking more chronograph in terms of the design, and the latter a slimmer and sleeker offering.
Both Watch GT 4 series smartwatches are currently available for people to register their interest on the local Huawei online store, with a pre-order kicking off next week. At the time of writing, both models do not have recommended pricing listed, but we have reached out to Huawei Mobile South Africa which confirmed that they have the same RRP.
To that end, both the 46mm and 41mm Watch GT 4 will retail from R6 999.
As mentioned, the new devices are currently up for customers to register their interest as part of an early bird special. Registering for this will earn you a place for the pre-orders that go live on 27th September. Thereafter, the smartwatches will officially go on sale from 6th October.
In terms of other specifications, the smartwatches sport the following:

It remains to be seen what kind of interest there will be for the Watch GT 4 series, especially as Huawei already has a number of solid wearables in the market already. Either way, the brand is looking to be one of the key players in the South African wearables space, particularly with the two-week battery life touted by premium Huawei smartwatches being a defining feature.
