ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS BELOW.

Logitech G, which is the gaming-focused arm of the Swiss peripherals and accessories maker, has announced three new devices as part of its PRO Series, all of which are aimed at professional esports players. The one peripheral that caught our eye was the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 gaming mouse.

It takes all of the core elements that made its predecessor popular among esports players, and makes some notable improvements, according to Logitech.

To that end, “Based on feedback from pro gamers, the new PRO X SUPERLIGHT retains its award-winning shape and geometry of the original PRO SUPERLIGHT and also a weight of only 60 grams,” Logitech pointed out in a press release.

Coupled with the lightweight design, the Pro X Superlight 2 also boasts an estimated battery life of 95 hours between full charges, with connectivity via a USB Type-C port on the front of the gaming mouse, allowing you to play and charge simultaneously. Pairing to your gaming rig is handled via a Bluetooth USB Type-A dongle or the aforementioned port.

Other notable aspects to the gaming mouse include a new Hero 2 sensor which offers, “tracking at over 500 inches per second and up to 32,000 DPI.”

“Its unique dual array design increases working range and maintains tracking performance, even when lifting or tilting the mouse,” adds Logitech.

Also added to the mix are Lightforce Hybrid Switches, that are described as, “a new hybrid optical-mechanical switch technology that combines the revolutionary performance of optical sensors in speed and reliability while providing the crisp response and mechanical feel that Pros love.”

For those who like simple colourways, the Pro X Superlight 2 comes in either Black or White, and is currently listed to retail in selected markets now from $159 (~R3 046). Local availability and pricing are yet to be detailed, so we will have to wait to see what the new PRO Series offerings will cost should they land in South Africa.
