Tomorrow Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 officially launches as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
We have already weighed in on the latest offering from Insomniac Games, which has its work cut out as far as living up to the success and impressive gameplay of the previous two titles.
The fact that we gave the game a perfect score in our review, which you can watch here, should tell you that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is indeed a worthy successor.
If for some reason you’re still on the fence, or simply do not have a PS5 in order to play the game, we thought we’d share the first 20 minutes of gameplay.
No need to worry, as there are no spoilers when it comes to key plot points, as we simply join Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the first tutorial mission of the game, with the pair taking on a rampaging and skyscraper-sized Sandman.
In the gameplay featured below, we get introduced to a few new mechanics too, including the web wings, which are a game changer as far as the already impressive traversal in the franchise goes. We also get to see how Insomniac merges different perspectives during a mission, with our Spider-Men zip-lining through crashing buildings, crawling on all fours to negotiate rubble, and swinging around in a sandstorm during the boss battle.
It serves as a great introduction to a game that is action packed, but also features plenty of moments with heart.
