Call of Duty, Blizzard Black Friday sale launches

  • Activision Blizzard has launched a Black Friday sale across its catalogue of videogame titles.
  • Games including Diablo IV, Call of Duty Modern Warcraft and Overwatch 2 DLC are all seeing discounts.
  • The sale will end on 27th November 2023.

Black Friday is on the horizon, and companies across the globe are looking to capitalise on the anticipation with “Black November” style sales that last for more than just one Friday.

In the gaming space, we have seen sales pop up for PlayStation, its rival Xbox and now newly acquired Microsoft company Activision Blizzard has launched its own. The Battle.net Black Friday sale will last from today until 27th November 2023, with prices discounted as much as 67 percent in some instances.

The Black Friday discounts are applied across Activision Blizzard IPs, which means that Blizzard series like Warcraft, Overwatch and Diablo are seeing sales, as well as Activision series like Call of Duty in terms of games and DLC content.

For example, you can now pick up all three editions of Diablo IV at 40 percent off, with the standard edition now priced at ~R827.00. The Ultimate Edition and the Digital Deluxe edition can be purchased for ~R1183.00 and ~R1065.00, respectively. These are around the normal prices for the standard edition of the game when not on sale, and both “special” versions come with extras like cosmetic items and mounts.

Some of the extras you can get from the Ultimate Edition, including an accelerated Battle Pass unlock.

Diablo IV is an excellent game, and longtime fans of the series will find an incredibly polished experience.

At the same time, you can also grab the Invasion Bundle for Overwatch 2 at 33 percent off, or just under ~R200. This is a DLC bundle that grants permanent access to Invasion Story Missions in Overwatch 2 as well as the Sojourn hero. It may be best to grab this bundle now from the Battle.net store instead of the Steam version, which also sees the same discount, but this version infamously has issues.

Hot off of the release of the next installment in the series, shooter fans can grab Call of Duty Modern Warfare from Battle.net at 67 off, or around R390 this Black Friday. The usual price is ~R1181.00 so now is a good time to spend on the multiplayer shooter if you want to try it at some point this year.

Unfortunately, the newly launched Modern Warfare III is still at full price on Battle.net.

Other discounted titles from Activision Blizzard include:

  • Diablo II: Resurrected (remake) at 67 percent off (R259.88),
  • Diablo III at 50 percent off (R196.83),
  • Diablo III Reaper of Souls at 50 percent off (R196.83),
  • Diablo III Battle Chest, including Diablo III and Reaper of Souls at 33 percent off (R393.67),
  • Warcraft III Reforged at 50 percent off (R98.52),
  • Call of Duty Vanguard at 50 percent off (R590.09),
  • Call of Duty Black Ops 4 at 67 percent off (R787.93),
  • Overwatch 2 Complete Hero Collection at 50 percent off (R196.83).

We would have liked to see some discounts on World of Warcraft items, like Game Time, or perhaps on card pack DLCs for Hearthstone, but it’s likely that since those games are still making a killing, there’s no reason to launch sales.
