“A legacy is not built within a day; the Dell XPS range has over the years become synonymous with premium materials, build quality and top-of-the-range technology,” says Heinrich Pretorius, Dell Consumer Product Specialist at DCC.

“It’s easy to see why the Dell XPS laptop range is so popular, since it offers a truly top-class experience. The Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 with their machine crafted aluminium bodies, thin and light design, and gorgeous displays offer a stylish and professional laptop that is only matched by their exceptional performance,” he adds.

DCC says that these notebooks fall under the Creator Edition brand, signalling that they are primed for graphic design, music production and photography. Considering the hardware these notebooks are packing we’re sure they’re up to the task.

However, we should point out that Dell’s XPS range of notebooks is unbelievably thin and stands just 18mm (XPS 15) and 19.5mm (XPS 17) tall. In our experience, these notebooks get hot quickly and as such, you may hit thermal throttling sooner than you might with a bigger bulkier notebook. With that having been said though, if you are in the market for a premium thin and light, the Dell XPS range has been a favourite here in the Hypertext office for many years.

DCC hasn’t shared a recommended retail price for these notebooks but considering the previous model of the XPS 17 still retails for R54 099, prepare for the updated version to cost a pretty penny.

These new Dell XPS notebooks are available now to the channel via DCC.
