Game selling PS5 for R6 499 to first 10 people this Friday

  • Game has announced an online-only Black Friday for the PlayStation 5 console.
  • The retailer is knocking R5 501 from the RRP of the console for the first 10 customers that purchase it at midnight on Friday 24th November.
  • The promotion will require the use of a special code, which can be found on Game’s social media channels.

We often lament the lack of truly great Black Friday deals here in South Africa, but Game has announced one that will be of particular interest to those wanting to pick up a PS5 console over the coming days.

This as the retailer is selling the PlayStation 5 console for R6 499, knocking R5 501 off of the usual R12k asking price of the Sony-made hardware.

As expected, this is a highly limited offer, and as much comes with some rules. Here Game is only offering it to the first 10 customers who purchase the PS5 from its online store. There is also a bit of admin required, with the offer going live as of midnight on 24th November, as well as a special code being needed in order to redeem the offer.

As such, Game says it has tried to make things as fair as possible.

“The first ten customers to buy the console from Game’s online store on Friday, 24 November at midnight, and enter a special code will receive the discount. This code can be found on Game’s social media channels. This will be limited to one console per customer and one code checkout, to ensure a fair chance to all ten shoppers with the quickest fingers,” the retailer explained in a release shared with Hypertext.

You will therefore need to keep your eyes posted on Game’s X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook accounts for more information should you wish to snap up one of these 10 heavily discounted PS5 consoles.

“Our merchandising team work hard throughout the year to ensure we can offer unbeatable deals like this come our deep discount days like Black Friday. Game Stores is the ultimate Black Friday shopping destination, and it is deals like this one that we know get our shoppers excited about Black Friday shopping at Game,” added Katherine Madley, Massmart’s VP of Marketing.
