MTN has a fairly broad portfolio of products. So broad in fact, that we only recently found out that the telecommunications giant has a funeral cover offering, that it is now rolling out to prepaid customers as part of its latest Summer promotional campaign.

It is called Free4U Funeral Khava, and as a part of the aforementioned promotion, it is offering R5 000 worth of free funeral cover. The promotion is running from now until 31st January 2024, the company confirmed in a press release sent to Hypertext.

“Launched on August 24, 2023, MyMTN Prepaid Khava provides customers with a flexible 6 or 12-month term starting at only R75 single premium, eliminating waiting periods, paperwork hassles and recurring monthly payments. Open to customers on any network, sign-up is seamless through the MoMo app, with premiums payable via the MoMo wallet,” the release added.

The free R5 000 funeral cover is exclusively available to qualifying prepaid customers, MTN noted.

As for what elements are required to qualify, MTN explained that is applies to:

  • “New customers activating the MTN Bonus Bonanza starter pack receive free R5000 Khava for 3 months.
  • Existing customers purchasing qualifying data bundles (R49 or more) enjoy free R5000 Khava, aligned with the bundle’s validity.”

As for activating said funeral cover, the steps are as follows:
