This week, Wednesday to be more precise, most South Africans will be spending time with the ones they love on Valentine’s Day, if they actually have someone (I’m not bitter. You’re bitter).
With Januworry turning into Febuworry, splashing out lots of cash on dinner and a movie may not be an option for everyone, which is why we’ve collated a list of 14 movies and TV series for people to stream on Valentine’s Day.
The options below run a wide gamut, including classics like Titanic, Crazy Stupid Love, and Pretty Woman, as well as some slightly peculiar choices like The Shape of Water, Her, and the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith series from Prime Video.

We’ve also added the platform where these offerings can be locally accessed to stream. The only thing to note here is that Her can only be purchased in South Africa via Apple TV+, but given the performances that Scarlett Johansson serves up, as well as the unique tech-filled future that director Spike Jonze delivers, it is well worth buying.
