Every Xbox Dream Vapor controller is unique & they’re coming to SA

  • Prima Interactive has said that the Xbox Dream Vapor Special Edition controller is coming to South Africa on 8th March 2024.
  • The firm has listed all the different local retailers that will carry the special edition gaming controller.
  • The controllers have a unique colour pattern for every individual unit and a rubberised grip.

On Friday, vendor Prima Interactive indicated that the Xbox Dream Vapor Special Edition controller is heading to South Africa as of 8th March 2024. The wireless controller for the Xbox Series X and S and PC will be available at a number of retailers, including BT Games, Computer Mania, Evetech, Game4U, Hi-Fi Corp, Incredible, Makro, Nexus, Takealot, and Zapa Gaming.

According to Microsoft, the Xbox Dream Vapour controller stands out from its contemporaries because each unit has a unique swirl and colour pattern. The controllers also have purple diamond pattern grips in the back case. They work on console, PC and mobile.

The Xbox Dream Vapour controllers are definitely lookers and stand out from what is being offered by the likes of Sony. For example, the DualSense Edge controller looks like the normal PlayStation 5 DualSense but with some added upgrades.

Meanwhile, the Dream Vapour device seems primed to stay in your mitts, with rubber diamond grooves on the triggers and on the back case. More and more players may be looking to get official variations of Xbox controllers in the near future, as reports last year said that the company was blocking third-party devices from working on Xbox consoles.

Unfortunately, the Dream Vapour controller works only with AA batteries, unlike the base Xbox Series X controllers. The controllers will work with Xbox Series X and S consoles, Windows 10 and 11, and Android and iOS devices.

While no local pricing has been revealed yet, the Xbox Dream Vapour controllers go for £64.99 or around R1 573.46, as of the current exchange rate.
